Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup pecans, in pieces
- 1 cup raisins boiled & cooled and rolled in flour
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnomon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
How To Make buttermilk cake

Step 1Cream sugar,butter and eggs. Sift dry ingredients together, then add to wet ingredients.Mix well. Bake in a 11x17 inch pan at 350 degrees until done.Use a cake tester or wooden pick in center; if it comes out clean it is done.

Step 2Frosting 2 cups brown sugar 3/4 cup of heavy cream 1 tablespoon of butter 2 tsp vanilla Boil brown sugar, cream to soft-ball stage. Take off heat.Add butter,cool.Add vanilla,beat until it loses its gloss.Frost the cake with the frosting.
