Ingredients
- 1/2 cup salted butter (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup butter flavored crisco
- 1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring ( or your favorite flavor)
- 1 pound box of powdered sugar
- 2-4 tablespoons milk
- - paste food coloring, as desired
How To Make buttercream icing

Step 1Cream butter and crisco until smooth, add vanilla or whatever flavoring you like.

Step 2Beat in powdered sugar one cup at a time until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Step 3Add milk a little at a time until desired consistency. If you are coloring it, add small amounts of paste color until you get the color you want. Remember the colors deepen as it sits.

Step 4If you are decorating with tips, you want the icing a little stiffer than if you are just icing a cake or cupcakes.
