I THINK I got this from a copycat for Magnolia Bakery Buttercream, but then modified a tiny bit. Maybe? It's a pretty basic buttercream.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

1 c
butter (not margarine)
8 c
confectioner's sugar
1/2 c
milk
2 1/2 tsp
vanilla

How to Make Buttercream Frosting

Step-by-Step

  • 1Place butter in mixing bowl, add 4 cups of the sugar and then the milk and vanilla, beat until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the remaining sugar, 1 cup at a time, until icing is thick enough to be of good spreading consistency (you may not need all of the sugar).
  • 2Use and store icing at room temperature, as icing will set if chilled. You can store in an airtight container for up to three days.
