This is a recipe that I experimented with and it came out well. A good recipe for those who like cake with nuts.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 sticks butter, unsalted, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon rum extract
  • 2 teaspoons butter flavoring
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 cups sugar

How To Make butter pecan pound cake

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 325*. Grease 12-cup Bundt pan; set aside.
  • Step 2
    In medium bowl sift dry ingredients together; set aside.
  • Step 3
    In large bowl cream butter and sugar on high speed until light and fluffy. Add in eggs one at a time mixing on low. Add in flavorings & milk, mix until combined.
  • Step 4
    Slowly add dry ingredients mixing on med. high until well combined. Lastly, fold in pecans.
  • Step 5
    Pour batter into greased pan. Bake for 1 hr. 10 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
