Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1 - egg
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups vanilla pudding package, frozen or homemade
- GLAZE INGREDIENTS
- 1/4 cup chocolate pieces
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
- 1.5 tablespoons milk
How To Make boston creme cake

Step 1Cream together sugar and shortening until light and fluffy.

Step 2Beat in egg.

Step 3Combine flour, baking powder and salt and add alternately with milk and vanilla to creamed mixture.

Step 4Pour into greased and floured 9-inch round cake pan.

Step 5Bake in 350 degree oven 25 minutes.

Step 6Remove from pan and cool on rack.

Step 7When cold, cut cake into two layers.

Step 8Spread bottom layer with pudding.

Step 9Top with second layer.

Step 10Pour chocolate glaze over top allowing some drizzle down sides.

Step 11Chocolate Glaze: Melt 1/4 cup chocolate pieces with one tablespoon butter or margarine.

Step 12Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup unsifted powdered sugar alternately with 1 1/2 tablespoons milk.
