This recipe is one that my Grandmother gave me in a recipe book she had made for me 2 years before she passed.It contained all of her favorite foods that she so enjoyed making.

Ingredients
- 3 cups seedless raisins
- 3 cups water
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup margerine
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 - eggs
How To Make boiled raisin cake

Step 1Cover raisins with water. Bring to boil and simmer 20 minutes. Drain raisins and reserve one cup liquid. Let cool

Step 2Sift together flour, soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside.

Step 3Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg.Fold raisins into batter.

Step 4Blend in flour mixture alternately with raisin liquid into butter/sugar mixture,beating well after each addition.

Step 5Spread into greased and floured 9 by 13 baking pan. Bake 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes. Cool in pan and ice with your favorite topping
