This is such an easy recipe. I have been making it for years and it is a hit every time...

Ingredients

  • CAKE:
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 - egg
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries, no need to thaw, if frozen
  • TOPPING:
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (i use fresh, but use whatever is on hand)
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened

How To Make blueberry coffeecake

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Step 2
    In a bowl, blend together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, butter or margarine, milk and egg. Using an electric mixer, beat vigorously for 30 seconds. Carefully fold blueberries into batter. Pour into a greased 9-inch-square cake pan.
  • Step 3
    For topping, in a bowl combine sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg and butter; sprinkle over batter. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until cake tests done.
