blacktooth grin cake (no alcohol)
I devised this recipe for a young heavy metal fan who wanted a tribute cake to late Pantera guitarist, Dimebag Darrell, for her birthday. I decided to flavor it after his favorite shot (blacktooth grin). I could not add whiskey to the cake due to the age of its intended recipients, but I found a flavor combination that adds a "bite" and the devil's food cake picks up the flavor of the cola well. The cake is sweet with a little tang to it. Those of us over 21 who have tried it can vouch- it tastes a lot like the shot, but under 21 will think it's a cake with a flavor kick!
