How To Make black walnut pound cake
-
Step 1If you cant get black walnuts, you can soak them in black walnut extract for a few min. being careful for it very strong. I chop my walnuts. i use regular walnuts and soak them. grease & flour a tube pan. pre-heat oven to 325
-
Step 2everything should be at room temp. beat butter & shortening at med. speed until soft & creamy. gradually add sugar, beating at med. speed 5-7 min. add eggs one at a time beating just until yellow disappears.
-
Step 3I always sift all my dry ingredients together. start adding flour mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with milk, ending with flour mixture. mixing just until blended after each addition. stir in vanilla and walnuts. pour into your greased & floured tube pan. bake at 325 for 1-1/2 hours.cake tester should come out clean. No iceing recipe came with this cake , but if you like you can make one. I've always had it plain and never any complaints.
