I found this recipe in my mothers old recipe book and it is delicious. It makes a huge cake!

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3 cups sugar
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup black walnuts(chopped)
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 5 - eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
How To Make black walnut pound cake

Step 1Beat butter and shortening at medium speed until creamy and soft. Gradually add sugar, beating at medium speed five to seven minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until yellow disappears.

Step 2Combine flour and baking powder. Add to creamed misture, alternately with milk; begin and end with flour mix. Mix until blended after each addition. Stir in vanilla and walnuts.

Step 3Pour into greased and floured 10inch tube pan. Bake at 325 for 1 and 1/2 hrs.
