• Step 1
  Bake cake as directed and divide into two 8x8 inch cake pans that have been spray & Floured.while cakes are baking allow whipped topping to thaw out.Remove cakes from oven when done and allow to cool about 5 min before flipping out of pans,allow cakes too cool on wire. about 30 min may-be longer.
• Step 2
  after cakes are completely cooled place one cake on platter,completely cover top of cake with cherry pie filling place cherry all over but be care with the syrup you don't want it coming down the side of the cake.
• Step 3
  add the other cake on top of the cherry filling,and completely cover with whipped topping
