Recipe makes 1 layer 9x13
Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 cup hershey's cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 - large eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water

Step 1Preheat oven 300 degrees (THIS IS NOT A TYPO! This is a slow cooking cake recipe)

Step 2Use shortening to grease pan and lightly flour. Recipe makes 1 13x9 cake. If you are going to layer it, you must double the recipe.

Step 3Add all dry ingredients and blend

Step 4Add all liquid ingredients (except the water) and blend till moist.

Step 5Add boiling water and mix on medium speed until smooth

Step 6Pour into pan and bake for one hour. Test with knife or toothpick at 45 mins. If comes out clean, cake is done!

Step 7ALLOW TO COOL! The longer you allow to cool the more flavorful!
