Every time I make these, I get requests for the recipe. They are great at pot-lucks, or bake sales!! Also good for concession stands at high school sports activities!!

    flour
  • 2/3 c
    powdered sugar
  • 3/4 c
    butter, softened
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 3 Tbsp
    flour
  • 1/4 c
    lemon juice
  • 1/3 c
    powdered sugar (optional)

How to Make Best Lemon Bars

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease a 9 X 13 inch baking pan.
  2. Combine the flour, 2/3 cup powdered sugar, and butter. Pat dough into prepared pan.
  3. Bake 20 minutes in preheated oven, until lightly golden brown. While crust is baking, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, 3 Tbsp. flour, and lemon juice until frothy. Pour this mixture over the hot crust.
  4. Return to oven for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until light golden brown.
  5. Cool in the pan, on a wire rack.
  6. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired. Cut into squares.
