My good friend June Grigg gave this recipe to me years ago, and I still think it's the best chocolate cake I've ever had.

2 cups flour/all purpose
2 cups sugar
1 - stick butter
1 cup canola oil
1 cup water
4 tablespoons cocoa
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 - eggs
1 dash salt
1 teaspoon soda

How To Make best chocolate sheet cake with icing

Step 1

1. Mix flour and sugar 2. Boil for 1 minute...butter, water, oil , cocoa 3. Pour in dry mixture and beat 4. Add buttermilk, eggs, salt, and soda. 5. Bake 350 for 40 minutes

Step 2

Icing 1. 1 stick melted butter 2. 4T cocoa 3. 4 T evaporated milk 4. 1 t. Flavoring 5. 1 box powdered sugar Mix and pour over hot cake
