FROSTING INGREDIENTS

1/2 c
margarine
1/4 c
unsweetened cocoa powder
1 Tbsp
vanilla
1 lb
powdered sugar
2 Tbsp
milk

How to Make Best Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Frosting

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cake Directions:
  • 2Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13-inch pan.
  • 3In a microwave-safe bowl, microwave chocolate, margarine and water until melted. Stir occasionally until chocolate is smooth. Allow to cool to room temperature.
  • 4In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, salt and soda. Pour in milk and eggs. Mix the cooled chocolate mixture into the batter. Pour into prepared pan.
  • 5Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
  • 6Frosting Directions:
  • 7In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in cocoa and vanilla.
  • 8Place confectioners' sugar in a large bowl. Pour in cocoa mixture. Beat well (mixture will be extremely thick).
  • 9Beat in milk, a teaspoon at a time, until desired consistency is achieved.
