Very MOIST Chocolate Cake with a delicious chocolate frosting. A BIG hit every time.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup strong black coffee, cooled
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

How To Make best chocolate cake ever !!

  • Step 1
    Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl or stand mixer.
  • Step 2
    Add eggs, coffee, buttermilk, coconut oil, and vanilla.
  • Step 3
    Beat at medium speed for two minutes. Batter will be thin.
  • Step 4
    Pour batter into a greased and floured 9x13 pan,or two 9 inch cake pans.
  • Step 5
    Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes for a 9x13,or 30-35 minutes for layer pans.
  • Step 6
    CHOCOLATE FROSTING ~ 1/2 cup of softened butter 2 ounces melted unsweetened chocolate, cooled 3 cups powdered sugar 3 Tbsp. milk 2 tsp. real vanilla extract
  • Step 7
    DIRECTIONS for Chocolate Frosting ~ COMBINE frosting ingredients and mix with a hand mixer. Spread frosting on cooled cakes.
