bee sting cake
Found this recipe on a website and was intrigued by the name. So I baked it up and it turned out to be a nice, light,buttery,moist coffee cake type of thing. I didn't have sliced almonds on hand so I used slivered almonds, so if you make this cake, the topping will have a little bit of a different look with the sliced almonds. This cake is a German Cake also called Bienstitch Cake.

Ingredients
- 4 ounces butter, soft
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 - eggs
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- FOR TOPPING:
- 1/2 cup almonds, sliced
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon milk or cream
How To Make bee sting cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 375 degrees.With electric mixer, cream together butter, sugar and vanilla. Mix in eggs. Beat in flour, baking powder, salt and milk.

Step 2Pour into 9 inch prepared spring mold pan(I use pam spray)

Step 3Topping: Heat almonds, sugar, butter and milk until butter is melted. Pour over batter. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Serve warm.
