basic lemon bundt cake
I have a friend who said they wished they had a good, basic lemon cake recipe that tasted like real lemons and not just a yellow cake mix (her words!). I found this recipe online (allrecipes) and added a little more lemony goodness to it.

Ingredients
- CAKE
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 - eggs
- 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon extract
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 cup juice of 3 lemons + milk to make 1 cup total
- 3 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest (i used zest of 3 lemons)
- GLAZE
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon extract
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- - zest of 1 lemon
How To Make basic lemon bundt cake

Step 1Heat oven to 350 degrees. Generously grease bundt pan.

Step 2Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, combining well after each egg. Add in extracts. Combine flour and powder. Add to sugar mixture 1 cup at a time, alternating with milk/lemon juice. Stir in zest.

Step 3Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60-70 minutes until wooden pick inserted comes out clean. Cool in pan pan for 10 minutes before inverting on pan/wire rack to cool completely.

Step 4Prepare glaze by combining all ingredients together until smooth. Drizzle over smooth cake and pucker up!!!
