Basic Friendship Bread

Use my recipe for friendship bread starter to give this its traditional tangy yet sweet taste. Altho this is the 'bare bones' recipe, u can add to it and switch it up with all kinds of goodies- a cup of smashed banana, some nuts, raisins, whatever u like in a quick bread - enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    starter *see my friendship bread starter recipe
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    all spice
  • 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp
    cardamon, ground *optional @ the mood ..i put it in at times, at times i dont
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 3
    eggs
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2/3 c
    oil

How to Make Basic Friendship Bread

Step-by-Step

  1. While preheating oven to 325 degrees, mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a seperate bowl, whisk the eggs lightly into the oil and then stir the egg/oil mix into the starter. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour the wet ingredients. Mix til incorporated and pour into a greased/sprayed loaf pan
  2. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 mins to an hour. Let cool for 10 mins and then remove from pan and place on a rack to finish cooling. Enjoy!
