Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 - eggs
- 3/4 cup molasses
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger
How To Make bar harbor gingerbread

Step 1Cream until light and fluffy the butter,white sugar and brown sugar. Beat in the vanilla and eggs. Blend in the molasses.

Step 2Combine flour, cocoa, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, baking powder and soda in a bowl.

Step 3Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture alternately with the buttermilk. Be sure to beat well after each addition.

Step 4Pour into a well greased bundt or tube pan. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees or until cake tests done.

Step 5Cool cake for 30 minutes. Turn out on rack to complete cooling.
