This dessert is so yummy and wonderful. People will not believe you made this. Plus, they will ask you how on earth you did it. Don't tell... lol. This is good for potluck meals. You can keep this in your freezer for up to six months. Just keep it covered well. Take some whenever you want and put it back. You take this to your family and friends, and they will think you worked forever to make this. I have also used peanut butter ice cream sandwiches to make this. They have them at Walmart.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

We loved the combination of flavors in this easy summertime dessert. Ice cream sandwiches are a sturdy base for this cake. Peanut butter ice cream sandwiches might be seasonal because we couldn't find them. So, we used vanilla ice cream sandwiches. We loved the layer of hot fudge mixed with crunchy peanut butter. Heath bits add texture and, along with the caramel sauce, add a little more richness. Sliced bananas are delicious with the chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel. Frosted with whipped topping, a sprinkle of nuts, and drizzles of chocolate sauce and caramel, this is an easy dessert for any summer gathering.

How To Make banana, peanut butter, chocolate, caramel ice cream dessert

Test Kitchen Tips
Our store was out of Heath bits. So, we broke up an extra-large Heath bar. If you have a deeper dish, like a lasagna pan, we suggest using that instead of a standard 9x13 baking dish. The baking dish is very full once assembled.
  • Add a layer of ice cream sandwiches to a baking dish, cut as needed, and freeze.
    Step 1
Line the bottom of a 9x13-inch dish with a layer of ice cream sandwiches. Cut to fit the pan. Put it in the freezer, along with the remaining ice cream sandwiches, while making hot sauce.
  • Warm hot fudge and stir in peanut butter.
    Step 2
Empty hot fudge into a bowl and heat. Do not boil. When warm, stir peanut butter into hot fudge until smooth. Cool just a bit.
  • Spread over ice cream sandwiches.
    Step 3
Then spread over ice cream sandwiches. You will see nuts from the peanut butter come through.
  • Add sliced bananas and drizzle with caramel.
    Step 4
Slice bananas over the top to cover the ice cream sandwiches. Then drizzle caramel sauce over bananas. Use as much as you'd like.
  • Sprinkle Heath bits.
    Step 5
Then sprinkle Heath bits over top using as many as you'd like.
  • Add another layer of ice cream sandwiches.
    Step 6
Then add another layer of the ice cream sandwiches.
  • Add Cool Whip.
    Step 7
    Add Cool Whip.
  • Cover very well. Freeze for at least 1 hour.
    Step 8
Cover very well. Freeze for at least 1 hour.
  • When ready to serve, sprinkle with nuts. Drizzle with chocolate and caramel.
