Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 - eggs
  • 2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 4 medium bananas)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • FROSTING:
  • 1 package (8oz) cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 1/2 cups confectioners sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • - chopped pecans

How To Make banana pecan torte

  • Step 1
    In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in bananas and vanilla.
  • Step 2
    Combine the dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
  • Step 3
    Stir in pecans.
  • Step 4
    Pour into 3 greased and floured 9" round baking pans. Bake at 350* for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  • Step 5
    Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely.
  • Step 6
    For the frosting, beat cream cheese, butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Add vanilla. Spread between layers and top of cake. Sprinkle with pecans
