An easy to make, moist, delicious cake. A great way to use up ripe bananas. Frost with a chocolate frosting.

  • 1 pkg
    yellow cake mix
  • 1/4 c
  • 3/4 c
  • 1/2 c
    buttermilk or sour cream
  • 4
    large eggs
  • 2 tsp
  • 1 c
    ripe mashed bananas
  • 1 c
    miniature semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts

How to Make Banana Chocolate Chip Nut Cake


  1. Combine cake mix, sugar, oil, buttermilk, eggs, vanilla and mashed bananas and beat on low speed for 30 seconds, until combined.
  2. Beat at medium speed for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.
  3. Gently fold in chocolate chips and nuts.
  4. Pour into 2 greased and floured 9 inch cake pans.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 33-38 minutes.
  6. Cool, frost.
