Ingredients

  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 3 - eggs
  • 2.5 cups bananas, over-ripe and mashed
  • 2.75 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

How To Make banana chocolate cake

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350.
  • Step 2
    Cream together the butter and sugar in a mixer; add to the molasses and mix until combined.
  • Step 3
    Add the eggs, then mix in the bananas; mix in the flour, baking soda, salt and extract until smooth, then fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Step 4
    Place the batter in a buttered and floured 9-inch springform mold; bake for about 1 hour.
  • Step 5
    Let the cake cool on a rack, cut it in half to form 2 layers, frost with your favorite chocolate frosting and serve.
