Ingredients
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 1-3/4 cup sugar
- 3 - eggs
- 2-1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup canned milk
- 1-1/2 cup mashed ripe bananas
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make banana cake with caramel icing

Step 1Measure the first 8 ingredients into mixing bowl. Beat for 2 minutes on low speed. Add bananas, nuts and vanilla and beat another 2 minutes.

Step 2pour into three 9 inch cake pans that have been lined with waxed paper and greased with shortening and flour.

Step 3bake at 350 for 25 minutes. When done, place on rack to cool 5 minutes before turning out of pans. When completely cool, frost with Caramel Frosting. I will post my recipe.
