I enjoy finding a bar recipe that calls for a jelly roll size pan. I swear the kids sense when I am baking and find their way home to sample the goods and take some home with them. I am NOT complaining! I find it the ultimate compliment!

  • 1/2 c
    margarine
  • 1 1/2 c
    granulated sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 2-3
    bananas, mashed
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • CREAM CHEESE FROSTING

  • 1 - 3 oz pkg
    cream cheese
  • 3/4 stick
    margarine
  • 1 Tbsp
    milk
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 c
    powdered sugar

How to Make Banana Bars

Step-by-Step

  1. Bars:
    Cream margarine, sugar. Add eggs until light. Add mashed bananas and vanilla. Add flour and baking soda.
  2. Spread into sprayed jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cool. Frost with cream cheese frosting.
  3. FROSTING:
    Cream together cream cheese and margarine. Add milk and vanilla. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until smooth. Spread on cooled bars.
