I enjoy finding a bar recipe that calls for a jelly roll size pan. I swear the kids sense when I am baking and find their way home to sample the goods and take some home with them. I am NOT complaining! I find it the ultimate compliment!

Ingredients

  • BARS
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 - eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2-3 - bananas, mashed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
  • 1 - 3 oz packages cream cheese
  • 3/4 stick margarine
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

How To Make banana bars

  • Step 1
    Bars: Cream margarine, sugar. Add eggs until light. Add mashed bananas and vanilla. Add flour and baking soda.
  • Step 2
    Spread into sprayed jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Cool. Frost with cream cheese frosting.
  • Step 3
    FROSTING: Cream together cream cheese and margarine. Add milk and vanilla. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until smooth. Spread on cooled bars.
