My Great Aunt Sis made this after church every Sunday to go along with our breakfast. I got to leave church a little early (she lived across the street) to help her mix it.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar (actually scant, "almost" 1/2)
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
How To Make aunt sis' breakfast cake

Step 1Heat oven to 375. Beat egg. Mix by hand: Add sugar and water. Beat in flour, baking powder and salt. Add melted butter and cinnamon.

Step 2Pour into lightly greased pie pan. Dot with pats of butter and lightly sprinkle top with cinnamon. Bake until center springs back when touched (about 40 min). Serve warm with butter or jam.
