Use any apples you like. I have seen my mother make this cake with apples on the verge on rotting. It seems to be the no fail cake recipe! Different apple varieties will vary the taste.

Ingredients
- 4 cups apples peeled, cored, and chopped into pieces
- 1/2 cup cooking oil
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon water
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
How To Make aunt ruth's apple cake

Step 1mix all ingredients together. mixture will be dry. they do not have to be added in any certain order

Step 2spray the bottom of a 13X9 pan with cooking oil spray (i.e. Pam)

Step 3Pack mixture in pan

Step 4Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees. cake will be moist and golden brown. Serve hot or at room temperature with ice cream or whipped cream!
