This is a tried and true family favorite recipe from my friend Wanda.Some of the family members prefer for the cake to fall.

Ingredients

3 c
sugar
3 c
flour
3 stick
butter
6
eggs
1-1/2 c
milk
1/4 tsp
salt
2 tsp
pure vanilla extract
3 tsp
baking powder

How to Make Aunt Ernice's Pound Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cream butter and sugar until fluffy and light.
  • 2Beat in eggs one at a time.
  • 3Combine dry ingredients in a separate bowl, then add 1/4 of dry ingred. to sugar/butter/egg mixture; mix well. Continue adding dry ingred. in fourths.
  • 4Add milk and mix well at medium speed, then stir in vanilla.
  • 5Grease and flour a large TUBE pan. Pour batter in slowly. Bake at 325 degrees for about one hour.
