This is a really great way to use up applesauce! One of our favorite cakes.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    margarine or butter, softened
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 2 1/2 c
    flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp
    allspice
  • 1 1/2 c
    thick applesauce
  • 1/2 c
    raisins
  • 1/2 c
    chopped pecans

How to Make Applesauce Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream margarine; gradually add sugar, creaming until light. Add eggs, beating well after each.
  2. Add dry ingredients alternately with applesauce. Stir in raisins and nuts.
  3. Turn into greased and floured 9x13" pan. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until tests done. Cool in pan.
