This Applesauce Cake is so moist and has great flavor. Gram always said to make a cake the day before you wanted to serve it so that the flavors could develope.
2 call purpose flour
1 ccane sugar
1 tspcinnamon, ground
1/4 tspcloves, ground
2 tspbaking soda
1 cwalnuts, chopped
1/2 cbutter, melted
1/2 tspnutmeg, grated
How to Make Applesauce Cake
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease and flour one 9 x 12 inch baking pan. Set aside.
- Sift together all dry ingredients.
Add nuts, raisins, melted butter, and applesauce.
Beat by hand until well blended.
- Pour batter into prepared baking pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes.
Allow to cool completely before serving.
I like it with a dollop of whipped topping.
