How To Make apple streusel cake
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350 F. Grease a 9 or 10 inch tube pan.
-
Step 2FOR THE CAKE: In a medium size bowl combine flour baking powder baking soda and cinnamon; mix well. (can also be put into a stand mixer) In a large size bowl using an electric mixer set on medium speed beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and beat well after each. Add vanilla. With the mixer set to low alternately beat flour mixture and orange juice into egg mixture.
-
Step 3Pour half the batter into the tube pan then sprinkle half the streusel mixture over that. Add the rest of the batter over the streusel. Spread the batter to make an even layer. Swirl the batter with a knife to create a marble like pattern.
-
Step 4Bake for 15 mins. Remove cake from the oven and sprinkle the rest of the streusel. Return the cake to the oven and bake until a toothpick put in the center comes out clean. (About 35 mins but everyones oven is different so it may be a bit more you'll have to judge)
-
Step 5Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.
-
Step 6MAKING THE GLAZE: In a small bowl add confectioners' sugar cinnamon and orange juice. Mix well. Put cake on a serving plate with streusel on top. Drizzle glaze over cake and serve.
