This is an easy recipe with delicious results. It's best served warm with a scoop of ince cream but also a great dish to take to an office party.

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    flour
  • 2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    dairy sour cream
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1
    egg
  • 2 c
    finely chopped apples

How to Make Apple Squares

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine four, sugar and butter, mix until crumbly. Add nuts.
  2. Press 2 3/4 cups of this mixture into a 9 x 13 in pan.
  3. To the ramining crumb mixture, add cinnamon, soda, salt, sour cream, vanilla and egg. Blend well.
  4. Stir in peeled and finely chopped apples. Spoon evenly over the crust.
  5. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes, until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
