Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cup oil
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1-1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2-1/2 cup finely chopped apples
- 1 cup chopped toasted pecans

Step 1Grease and flour a 10 inch tube pan or 2 -9x5 inch loaf pans. In a large bowl, combine oil and sugar, beating well.

Step 2Add eggs, beating well after each addition. Sift together dry ingredients, and add to sugar mixture, along with vanilla, combining well. Fold in apples and nuts.

Step 3Bake for 1-1/2 hours at 325 degrees. Loaf pans for 1 hour to 1 hour 05 minutes. Cool cake in pan on wire rack 30 minutes. Turn cake out of pan and cool thoroughly.
