apple-licious sheet cake
The apples I like for this recipe are Honeycrisp, Braeburn and Gala. A little tart and and sweet flavors. I love anything with apples and cinnamon and this is a winner!

Ingredients
- 2 - medium cooking apples
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1 2/3 cups dark brown sugar
- 1 gallon apple butter
- 2 - eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 2/3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup finely chopped dried apples
- - recipe maple icing
How To Make apple-licious sheet cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 F, Grease a 13x9x2 baking pan; set aside. Peel, core, and coarsely shred one apples using a box grater; thinly slice remaining apple. Cover; set aside.

Step 2In a large bowl whisk together butter, brown sugar, apple butter, eggs,and vanilla until smooth. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; whisk to combine. Fold in dried and fresh shredded apple. Spread batter into prepared pan. Arrange apple slices over batter.

Step 3.Bake 40 min or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean. Remove to a wire rack. Pour maple icing over hot cake,, spread evenly. Cool completely. Dust with cinnamon.

Step 4Maple Icing: In a small bowl stir together 1/3 cup powdered sugar, 1 TBSP melted butter, 1 TBSP maple syrup, 1 TBSP milk, and 1/4 tsp vanilla until smooth.
