This has been a family favorite for as long as I can recall. The combination of apples, cinnamon, and cream with that rich, buttery crust are fantastic!

Makes 9x13 pan
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, unsalted
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 1/2 cups peeled, sliced apples
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 - egg
How To Make apple kuchen

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together room temperature butter with the cake mix, either by hand or pastry cutter, until crumbly. Mix in coconut. Press in bottom, and slightly up side of ungreased 13x9 glass pan.

Step 2Bake 10 minutes. While baking, toss apples with cinnamon and sugar. In a separate bowl, combine egg and sour cream.

Step 3Arrange apples over warm crust when removed from the oven. Spread or drizzle sour cream mixture over the apples. It may not cover them completely, but that is fine. Bake 25 minutes until crust is starting to turn golden brown.

Step 4Serve warm or cold, as is, or with vanilla ice cream or homemade whipped cream! Enjoy!
