This was my Mom's recipie and I have many fond memories of picking apples in our backyard from our tree trying to dodge all the bees :o)so that she could make this delicious cake. This surely is one of the best Apple cakes you'll ever have. Enjoy!

  • 1 1/2 c
    vegatable oil
  • 2 c
  • 3 c
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/4 c
    whole milk
  • 3 c
    sliced, peeled red apples (4)

  • 1 stick
    unsalted butter
  • 1 c
  • 1/4 c
    whole milk

How to Make Apple Dapple Cake


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix first three ingredients in a large bowl by hand. Add remaining ingredients and mix together well by hand. Pour into a 9 x 13 in. greased and lightly floured baking pan. Bake for 50 - 60 minutes denpending on your oven.
  2. Remove cake from oven and using a small knife, poke holes on the top of the entire cake approx an inch apart.
  3. Glaze: Mix all ingredients together in a small sauce pan and bring to a boil. Cook for 2 1/2 minutes and immediately pour over warm or cooled cake.
