This cake has been made in my kitchen for decades. It is one of my family favorites. It gets better with age. A few days of soaking in the glaze brings more flavor. You can heat it up in the microwave...etc.. Add what nuts you like and I have made it with many different apples.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 cups fresh yellow apples peeled, cored sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups peacans, chopped
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 stick margarine

How To Make apple dapple cake

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 325 degrees. Mix together oil, sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour, salt, soda apples, and pecans. Bake in a 9X13 inch pan for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Remove from oven and make glaze. Pour glaze over while cake is still hot.
  • Step 2
    For Glaze, combine in saucepan the brown sugar, milk and margarine. Boil (medium) for 3 minutes. Serve with Cool Whip...
