This cake has been made in my kitchen for decades. It is one of my family favorites. It gets better with age. A few days of soaking in the glaze brings more flavor. You can heat it up in the microwave...etc.. Add what nuts you like and I have made it with many different apples.

2 tsp
vanilla extract

plain flour
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
baking soda
3 c
fresh yellow apples peeled, cored sliced
1 1/2 c
peacans, chopped
1 c
dark brown sugar
1/4 c
milk
1 stick
margarine

How to Make Apple Dapple Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Heat oven to 325 degrees. Mix together oil, sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour, salt, soda apples, and pecans. Bake in a 9X13 inch pan for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Remove from oven and make glaze. Pour glaze over while cake is still hot.
  • 2For Glaze, combine in saucepan the brown sugar, milk and margarine. Boil (medium) for 3 minutes. Serve with Cool Whip...
