found this recipe in a "Methodist Women" Desserts Cookbook . The book is compiled of tried and true recipes. I think the book is from the 1960's Pennsylvania.

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts
  • 3 c
    chopped apples
  • CARMEL TOPPING:

  • 1 c
    light brown sugar
  • 1 stick
    margarine or butter
  • 1/4 c
    evaporated milk

How to Make Apple Dapple Bars

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream Sugar and eggs;
  2. Fold in cooking oil
  3. add other ingredients and mix
  4. pour into sprayed 13 x 9 pan
  5. Bake 350 degrees 45 minutes
  6. TOPPING DIRECTIONS:
  7. mix all together in saucepan
  8. Boil 2 minutes and pour over baked, hot cake
  9. Cut in squares
