Ingredients
- 1/4 cup very warm water
- 1 package dry yeast
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 - eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 1/3 cups unsifted flour
- TOPPING INGREDIENTS
- 3 large apples, peeled and sliced
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 6 tablespoons butter
How To Make apple crumb coffee cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 375.

Step 2Measure the water into a small bowl.

Step 3Sprinkle yeast on top.

Step 4Stir until dissolved.

Step 5Cream butter thoroughly in a large electric mixing bowl.

Step 6Gradually add the sugar and salt.

Step 7Cream together.

Step 8Add the yeast mixture, eggs and milk and beat at medium speed until well blended.

Step 9Gradually add and blend in the flour while beating at medium speed; beat until the mixture is well blended.

Step 10Spread the batter in a well-greased 9x9\" pan.

Step 11Arrange Apple Crumb Topping over dough.

Step 12Cover and let rise in a warm place, free from draft, until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.

Step 13Bake in 375 oven for about 35 to 40 minutes.

Step 14Turn out of pan and cool on a wire rack.

Step 15Apple Crumb Topping: Arrange sliced apples on the dough.

Step 16Combine the remaining ingredients and mix until crumbly.

Step 17Sprinkle over apples.
