butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 c
all purpose flour
finely chopped cooking apples
How To Make
Cream butter and then gradually add 3/4 cup sugar, beating well. Add egg and mix well.
Combine flour, baking powder, nutmeg and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternating with milk--begin and end with milk. Mix well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
Pour into a greased and floured 9 inch pan.
Combine apples, 1/3 cup sugar and cinnamon and mix well. Spread the apple mixture over the batter.
Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes.
Makes a 9 inch coffee cake.
