This cake recipe was given out in a flyer at a local apple festival. Its moist and delicious, so good made with fresh local apples in the fall.

Ingredients

  • CAKE:
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 3 cups baking apples, peeled, and chopped in large pieces
  • TOPPING:
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 cup milk

How To Make apple cobbler cake

  • Step 1
    CAKE: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a standard size Bundt pan. Blend together oil, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Sift together flour, salt, and baking soda. Mix this with the sugar mixture. Fold in pecans and apples. Pour into Bundt pan. Bake for 1 hour. See TOPPING directions below in Step 2. Pour topping over hot cake and let stand at least 1 hour before turning pan over and removing cake from pan.
  • Step 2
    TOPPING: While cake is baking stir together topping ingredients in a saucepan. Just about 5-7 minutes before you remove cake from oven turn on heat and boil topping mixture for 3 minutes. Have topping ready when cake comes out of oven.
