Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 - apples, peeled, chopped small
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 cup oil
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • GLAZE
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • - chopped pecans, optional
  • - you may want to double the glaze...i hadn't made this cake in some time...forgot i doubled it, but didn't this time

How To Make apple cake / caramel glaze

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degree F. Grease a Bundt or tube pan. Combine cinnamon and sugar and coat pan with mixture.
  • Step 2
    Mix apples, eggs and oil with electric mixer.
  • Step 3
    Add flour, sugar, baking soda, and cinnamon; mix well. ( batter will be thick ).
  • Step 4
    Pour into pan and bake about 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Step 5
    Allow cake to rest in pan for at least 10 minutes before inverting onto a cake plate.
  • Step 6
    Combine butter, brown sugar and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook for 1 minute. Spoon over cake. Allow to cool before serving.
  • Step 7
    Enjoy!
