Ingredients

3 cups flour - unsifted
2 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup crisco oil
4 - eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3 teaspoons baking powder
- juice from 1 orange
4 large red delicious apples (peeled & sliced thin)
2 teaspoons cinnamon
5 teaspoons sugar

How To Make apple cake

Step 1

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and lightly flour tube pan. Mix all but the last 3 ingredients in a large bowl, beat well.

Step 2

In another bowl, mix together the peeled and sliced apples, cinnamon, and 5 tsps. sugar.
Step 3

Pour layer of batter in pan, then a layer of sliced apples, etc. finishing with apples on top. Bake for 1 hr and 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
