Ingredients

  • 1 c
    flaxseed oil or grapola
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 3 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 2 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp
    cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp
    wheat germ
  • 1 c
    raisins, or dried cranberries
  • 1 c
    packaged coconut, shredded
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts
  • 3 c
    firm, sweet apples,peeled, chopped fine

How to Make Apple Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix together oil, sugar, vanilla, and eggs.
  2. Sift flour and add salt, soda, cream of tartar, cinnamon, and wheat germ,
  3. Mix well and fold in apples, nuts, raisins or dried cranberries, and coconut.
  4. Bake for one hour at 350 in a tube or bundt pan, spray with cooking spray or grease the pan and flour. Let cool. Can use a simple icing glaze or a glaze with cinnamon added. .
