  • 1 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 3
    eggs, well beaten
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 3 c
    cake flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
  • 2 c
  • 3 c
    finely chopped granny smith apples
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp

  • 1/2 c
  • 1/4 c
  • 1 c
    light brown sugar

How to Make Apple Cake


  1. Combine oil and sugar, blending well. Add eggs, apples and nuts. Sift together flour, salt, soda, and cinnamon. Add to wet ingredients. Mix well, Add vanilla. Pour batter into a greased and floured tube or bundt pan. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  2. Glaze: In saucepan melt butter and add sugar. Bring to a boil and cook for 2 1/2 minutes. Add milk and mix well. Pour mixture over hot cake in pan. Let stand for 2 hours before removing cake from pan.
