Ingredients

1/2 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup applebutter
1/2 cup chopped nuts

How To Make apple butter filling

Step 1

mix all ingredients except nuts thoroughly in small saucepan

Step 2

cook stirring constantly until filling thickens and boils.
Step 3

Boil and continue stirring for one minute.
Step 4

Remove from heat.
Step 5

Stir in nuts and cool
Step 6

Spread between layers of spice or oatmeal cake. *note* applesauce may be substituted for applebutter but add a dash of nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon.
