Ingredients
- CRUST
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 1/2 cup ground almonds
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 cup flour
- FILLING
- 250 grams cream cheese softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 - egg
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
- TOPPING
- 1/3 cup lightly packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/3 cup slivered almonds or 1/3 cup chopped almonds
How To Make apple almond cheesecake

Step 1Make the crust: In a small bowl, beat butter until fluffly. Add ground almonds and extract and mix. Work flour into mixture until a ball of dough forms. Roll out dough. I placed dough between two sheets of wax paper. Roll into a 10" circle. Place in a spring form pan and press dough slightly up the sides. Refrigerate 30 mins.

Step 2Make filling: Beat cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar, egg and extract. Pour into chilled crust.

Step 3Make topping: In a large bowl combine sugar, flour and cinnamon. Arrange apples on top of cake in a circular pattern until all slices are used. Sprinkle with brown sugar mixture and then sprinkle almonds on top.

Step 4Bake in a 425 oven for 10 mins., then turn down to 350 and bake for 30-35 mins. and until apples are tender.
