Ingredients
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 - egg yolks
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 - whole egg
- 1 3/4 cups honey
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 cup strong coffee
- 2 - egg whites
How To Make apolonia's polish honey cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350ºC. Cream shortening and sugar.

Step 2Add egg yolks, whole egg and honey. Beat well. Add dry ingredients gradually; add coffee.

Step 3Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into the batter.

Step 4Pour into well greased tube pan. Bake for 50 minutes or until done.
