- 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
- 2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- TOPPING
- 6 tablespoons butter, soft
- 4 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup nuts (your favorite)
How To Make amish cake

Step 1Cream together butter and sugar

Step 2Mix in buttermilk and soda.

Step 3Add flour and vanilla.

Step 4Bake until done. Test with fork and when it comes out clean, the cake will be done.

Step 5TOPPING: Mix all ingredients and spread on cake while it's still hot.

Step 6Bake for 1 minute or until top is bubbly.
