Ingredients

  • CAKE
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • TOPPING
  • 6 tablespoons butter, soft
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup nuts (your favorite)

How To Make amish cake

  • Step 1
    Cream together butter and sugar
  • Step 2
    Mix in buttermilk and soda.
  • Step 3
    Add flour and vanilla.
  • Step 4
    Bake until done. Test with fork and when it comes out clean, the cake will be done.
  • Step 5
    TOPPING: Mix all ingredients and spread on cake while it's still hot.
  • Step 6
    Bake for 1 minute or until top is bubbly.
